Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi has sent new cadets to the sea, completing the third phase of the Nigerian seafarer development program NSDP and completing the Phase 2 return set.
At the launching ceremony hosted by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Bureau NIMASA on Friday, Amaech took action on cadets, cadets departing for Greece and cadets departing for India, and Nigeria. I urged him to represent him.
He advised unemployed people at the end of their training at sea to return to the country and contribute to the development of the country as opportunities in Nigeria are gradually opening up. “If you leave the country, don’t bother the country. You are not only the ambassador of NIMASA, but also the ambassador of Nigeria. You have to behave perfectly. You have to study and pass the exam. Many young people want this opportunity.
This means that you have to show NIMASA that they were right that they chose you. After the training, some people will be hired overseas and some will not be hired overseas, so please go home. This country changes over time. You will see change when you come. It’s not easy, it’s difficult, but change is gradual, “he said. The Minister also called on NIMASA to consider Nigerian training institutions when dispatching cadets at sea. This is because some people have such abilities.
In his opening speech, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, Managing Director of NIMASA, said he is constantly striving to ensure that maritime education and training meet international standards. To the cadet he said: Remember that you are supposed to be a good ambassador to Nigeria and benefit from this huge national investment. ” For his part, the presidency of NIMASA, Asita Honorable Asita, is proud that the NSDP is influencing the Nigerian maritime sector.
He ordered participants to do well as ambassadors, which in turn urged more young Nigerians to participate in the maritime sector, adding that the program would help close the country’s unemployment gap. Former DGNIMASA Dr. Ade Dosunmu expressed his joy in his message of goodwill that the NSDP, launched 11 years ago, is still waxing strongly.
He says: “I am satisfied with the way NIMASA is implementing this program, which started 11 years ago. We would like to thank His Excellency Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his deliberate leadership in the maritime sector.

The sector has experienced unprecedented growth since you became Minister. Piracy has declined dramatically as the removal of debris in our waters has begun.
I admire this administration. ” Sir Charles Wami, Managing Director of Charkin Maritime Academy, also called for new partnerships with native maritime agencies on maritime training. He advised the cadets to take disciplinary action and ensure success, stating: Unless the sea dries up, I have a job as a sailor. This job is a job you can be proud of.
Other partners and senior officials who convey a message of goodwill at the event include NLNG Ship Management Limited, one of Nigeria’s largest seafarers, a retired commercial captain and a former sea minister.
