40 killed in fresh Plateau attack

A new attack in the Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State’s Zike hamlet, Kimakpa, Kwall district, has claimed 40 killed in fresh Plateau attack

According to information obtained by The Guardian, the assailants broke into the neighborhood early on Monday morning and opened fire randomly at locals who were fleeing for their lives.

However, security personnel who had previously been at a nearby village repulsed the onslaught. Unfortunately, the assailants had already caused a great deal of damage.

At the scene of the tragedy, 36 individuals were pronounced dead, while four more people passed away later from their injuries.

Other attack victims who needed medical assistance were sent to a local hospital.
No security agency has responded to the incident, which took place days after several people were slain in the state’s Bokkos Local Government Area.

Caleb Muftwang, the governor of Plateau State, recently called on security forces to assist the state while revealing that at least 64 towns had been overrun by bandits.

“I can honestly tell you that the only explanation I can think of is terrorist-sponsored genocide,” Muftwang stated.

“The issue is, who are the people behind this terrorist organization? The security services need to assist us in figuring this out.

Since it involves more than just regular individuals, we need to get to the stage where we know the sponsors. “Somewhere is sponsoring this,” he continued.
